At Minnesota Valley, as part of our welcoming and inclusive culture, we are committed to provide opportunities for players of all ages and skill levels to enjoy a variety of golf events all season long.

The Golf Committee and PGA Professional team work hard to plan a perfect mix from May through October, all designed to promote camaraderie and competition where enjoyment is experienced by every participant.

Season Long

  • The Old Pal is our 2 person team Four-ball match play event with divisions for couples, women, and men.
  • Womens City League; MVCC competes in the Twin Cities Women city league and are recent champions.
  • Senior Mens City League; MVCC senior men compete in the Twin Cities Sr league and have qualified for the finals in recent times.
  • Junior Competition; MVCC juniors compete in the PGA Jr League and MGA District Jr League

Juniors 

Junior golf leagues and camps are available for children ages 5-18 years old of golf members as well as their grandchildren:

  • Mighty-Linksters; 5-7 year old boys and girls beginning to play golf. Instruction is held at the practice putting green, short range and on the practice range.
  • 3-Hole League; Play begins at 8:00 AM followed by instruction. Juniors play from 75 yards to 150 yards with a target (par) score of 12 per 3 holes.
  • 5- Hole League; Instruction begins at 8:00 AM followed by play.  5-Hole juniors play from the designated tees 100 – 200 yard marker with a target (par) score of 20 per 5 holes.
  • 9-Hole League; Instruction for 9-hole juniors begins at 7:30 AM, followed by play on the 1st tee around 7:45 AM.
  • 18-Hole League; Play for the 18-hole juniors begins at 7:30 AM off the 1st tee.
  • Junior Golf Camps; Junior golf camp is available for children ages 8-18 years old of golf members as well as their grandchildren. The goal of the camp is to introduce the game of golf to juniors in a fun and relaxed atmosphere while also improving their skills.

Women

  • Opening Dinner; Kicking the season off in style with great food and fun with a focus on welcoming and connecting newcomers to the women’s league.
  • Women’s Leagues; Two 9 hole leagues on Tuesdays, morning and evening, along with an 18 hole league on Thursday mornings. Of course all include spontaneous and organized social opportunities after play.
  • Member-Member;  A one day shotgun start event with a 1 of 2 Net Best Ball (Modified Stableford Points) format, which includes on course food & beverages – premium tee gift – huge shop credit payouts – and food after play!
  • Guest Days; Lunch included before golf with an afternoon shotgun start. The 18 hole event format is best 2 Net Balls of the Foursome. Cocktails, Hors D’Oeuvres and Dinner afterward with prizes and a whole lotta fun! There’s also a 9 hole guest day with a scramble format.
  • The Raynor Cup; MVCC’s own Solheim Cup style competition where two teams of 20 women over two days seek to be the Raynor Cup champion.
  • Valley Days; our annual Pro-Member tournament where both women and men can form teams.
  • Frecracker Open; Variable Best Ball with gross & net team winners. The best patriotic dressed couple and the best decorated golf cart are crowned!

Men

  • Mens League; conducted on Wednesdays from 11-5, MVCC men’s league is a 10 man team event played throughout the summer. Each week you can play with your teammates or anyone else during the designated time frame. The format is an 18 hole individual net stableford with the best 4 scores per team counting towards the overall standings.
  • Guest Days; Conducted twice during the season with a shotgun start and a variable best ball format. Side games include closest to the pin, longest drive, longest putt, team skins, a player’s pool, shop credit prizes, and afterward cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, dinner with a whole lotta fun!
  • Match Play Masters; A Sat-Sun 45 hole individual match play event with 8 flights of 8 players all getting to play 5 nine hole matches. All flight play is heads up/scratch, yet handicap index is used to establish flights and seed players within flight for pool play.
  • Member – Guest; The Heritage, is the men’s three day Member/Guest tournament in mid July. A practice round with fun side games on Thursday, flight matches on Friday and Saturday, and the championship shootout Saturday afternoon which is followed by cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, and a spectacular dinner.
  • Member – Member; A multi faceted event conducted the week after Labor Day, Sweepstakes is the highlight of the golf season for most of our men members. Thursday is a fun team scramble format where low scoring teams can qualify for Fridays Shootout, which the low 12 teams by handicap automatically qualify for. The shootout is a pressure packed alternate shot event and well attended by spectators who can have a stake in the outcome. On the weekend teams play a stableford format with a best ball on Saturday and a both balls – total ball on Sunday.

Season Ending

  • Valley Days; our annual Pro-Member tournament where both women and men can form teams.

The Polar Bear & Cross Country are fun filled unique events to cap off the season
